U Create After School Art Club $30 a week Sibling discount will still be offered with 10% off additional students. - Sibling Code = SC2025 Wk 1 - 24th April - NO CLASS week 1 Wk 2 - 1st May Wk 3 - 8th May - Wk 4 - 15th May Wk 5 - 22nd May Wk 6 - 29th May Wk 7 - 6th May Wk 8 - 13th June Wk 9 - 20th June Wk 10 - 27th June Last Week The U Create Teen Art Club is your kids safe place - to hang out with friends, create, make, draw, paint and have fun. We aim to foster an environment of 'Art for wellbeing', a place to decompress, destress, engage and enjoy. Open to High School students 12+ We empower them to work on their own self-directed art creations, they could work on their High School art homework, design projects, a craft project for home, paint a canvas or hand build clay. The choice is theirs and often artworks will take 3-4 weeks before completion. The students are encouraged to develop their skills and are often pushed out of their comfort zone learning to use tools, materials and techniques across a range of interesting mediums. But this is not essential, this is not like school, we don't follow a curriculum and the students all work on individual projects. Most important is the students ability to use art and creativity as a form of self expression, to feel comfortable to play, experiment and feel ok when things don't go to plan. The weekly sessions are a time for experimentation and skill development and the students are encouraged not to get hung up on set outcomes. Teens interested in working towards an art portfolio are of course able to use the space, materials and Karen's mentorship as they build a body of work. Teens looking to just come and create without the pressure of grades and conformity are welcomed Teens looking for a safe place to use art to help balance the stress of school is encouraged, Karen is on hand to guide, mentor, tutor and help. Equally we create and encourage peer support - a safe place to share. The students can bring food and drink, earbuds and music ....... it's a place to feel comfortable and just create.
